Important selection dates for Psychology courses

Psychology students: It is CRITICAL that you select your courses as soon as possible!  Course size is NOT expected to increase over time. Once a course is full, it is full! *

Non-Psychology students: Students in some non-psychology majors/minors alo have priority access to some PSYC courses. If your program requires a PSYC course, or has a PSYC restricted elective, you will have priority access to that course.

Be sure that you know when your course selection window opens.

January 4 @ 8:00 am
Priority access removed from PSYC2360
Waiver request can be submitted to shelder@uoguelph.ca for missing prerequisites, surpassing the 2000- and 3000-level PSYC course cap, etc. (include your student ID and the course code)

To request this information in an alternate format, please contact psychdep@uoguelph.ca.

All components of undergraduate and graduate course delivery in Psychology will be virtual in Winter 2021. This includes lectures, seminars, quizzes, mid-terms, final exams, presentations etc.

Exception: PSYC*3240, 3910, 4240, 4870/4880. If you will be taking one of these courses, you must contact your supervisor to discuss whether your presence on campus will be required.

Psychology course waiver requests

Early registration is STRONGLY encouraged! Course selection opens up several months in advance of each semester (June for Fall, November for Winter). During course registration, you may find that a course you would like to register in is full. At times, a waiver can be granted to allow you to register.

If you wish to request a course waiver for a Psychology course, all requests are managed by Sharon Helder, Academic Advisor and Manager (not the course instructor).
Send an email to shelder@uoguelph.ca and be sure to include your student number and an explanation for your request. You will typically receive a response within 24-48 hours.
